Conclusion (the committee's words)
Some witnesses questioned the accuracy of methane emissions data from the oil and gas sector. While these data are not currently verified, we heard support for improved verification from both industry and the regulator. Ensuring confidence in the accuracy of the UK’s methane emissions data is important.
