Conclusion
As part of the Government ’s construction jobs plan, there should be a national review of non-degree construction training and apprenticeships. It should assess their effectiveness and relevance to modern day construction and to the needs of employers. It should also review the standards of qualifications awarded. The plan should examine the reasons for the high drop-out rates for construction qualifications and should be published later this year, as promised to the Committee .
