Conclusion
It is important that remedies for human rights violations are not reduced by the courts, simply because they have been identified through claims brought otherwise than under the HRA. The Bill should be amended to ensure that all damages awarded for what amount to human rights violations are exempted from the restrictions on damages in clauses 57–59.
