Recommendation
The funding allocated to this business model must be sufficient to support deployment at scale, in line with its aim to balance the overall system, and the Government should outline the scale of funding that will be associated with its support schemes. We recommend that minimum targets for the overall long-duration energy storage capacity the model should support will help ensure support mechanisms are set appropriately to bring forward the necessary scale and range of projects.
