While there are many high-quality staff at the UK’s regulators, there are skills gaps in some areas, particularly in areas of rapid change such as digital and technological skills. The ability of regulators to understand, manage and, if necessary, enforce against activities in their areas of responsibility will be impaired if they cannot access these skills.
