Recommendation (the committee's words)
The adoption of a public health approach must reflect the UK Government taking an evidence-based approach to drugs policy. The Home Office must commit to implementing an evidence-based approach to drugs policy. This includes the Government giving full weight to all reports and recommendations from the ACMD. Where the UK Government chooses to go against expert advice from the ACMD, the Government must publicly outline its reasons for doing so and set out its evidence base.
