The MOD should incentivise prime contractors to take a more active role in supporting Scottish SMEs. Procurement processes should take into account the extent to which prime contractors help SMEs overcome barriers to participating in the defence sector, with a view to favouring companies that demonstrate strong support for SME growth and inclusion in defence supply chains.
