Conclusion
Professor McKeever, Ulster University, stated that the sharing of data between the DWP and the Scottish Government and Scottish Social Security Agency is ‘very critical to rolling out the success of the benefit system.’86 This point is supported throughout the written evidence the Committee has received for the inquiry. The Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland describe information sharing as ‘vital’87 and Citizens Advice Scotland say it is ‘crucial’88 for the operation of the benefits system in Scotland.
