Recommendation
We recommend that there should be an increase in resources and support for claimants who struggle or cannot make a claim online—for example telephone and or video call appointments. The DWP should provide more financial resources for the Help to Claim service run by Citizens Advice Scotland to ensure it is fully equipped to deal with the rise in job losses expected as the year progresses. (Paragraph 94) Does Universal Credit reduce poverty in Scotland?
