According to the FCDO, the UK helped facilitate the introduction of the GCF’s Updated Strategic Plan for 2020–2024, which aims to improve access to funding for LDCs, SIDS and other African countries as well as of a new voting procedure in the GCF.105 It has also facilitated work on a simpler approval process, more direct funding for national, regional and local organisations and on increasing the share of GCF adaptation funding earmarked for LDCs and SIDS from 50% to 69%.106
