Recommendation
To quantify the value for money and scientific impact of the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Project, we recommend that the Natural Environment Research Council establish long-term monitoring to assess the effects of infrastructure upgrades. This should focus on key metrics, such as research output and citations of Antarctic fieldwork, to gauge the long-term benefits these improvements bring to UK Antarctic science. We recommend that the Natural Environment Research Council publish a comprehensive report on the outcomes of these upgrades, with the aim of releasing it by
