Conclusion
The tourism sector has historically relied on self-regulation through bodies such as the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators. While this has helped establish high operational standards, increasing tourist numbers and the emergence of non-member operators now challenge the effectiveness of this model. A more robust, proactive regulatory approach is required to safeguard environmental integrity. (Conclusion, Paragraph 222) 102
