Recommendation 11

11 Paragraph: 60

Require Health Education England to publish recruitment plan with targets for midwifery ethnic diversity.

Conclusion
Improving diversity in the recruitment of midwives will improve the standard of care that black, Asian, mixed-race, and minority ethnic women receive throughout pregnancy, birth, and the post-natal period. Health Education England should set forth a recruitment plan with clear targets to increase the ethnic diversity of people going into midwifery.
