Conclusion (the committee's words)
We also recommend that the Department work with social care providers to develop a national training programme for social care workers to improve their confidence and skills in supporting older people to be active, including understanding deconditioning and how to prevent it. This should include supporting the workforce to take a strengths-based approach to physical activity, with care assessments focusing on what older people can do. (Recommendation, Paragraph 64)
