Recommendation 4

We recommend that the Department work with integrated care boards (ICBs) to develop a national roll-out of existing best-practice models to support clinicians to have conversations about physical activity with patients, particularly older patients. This should include a communication strategy to reach all health professionals, clear messaging about the benefit and priority assigned to these conversations and resources to support managers to promote it to their staff.
