Recommendation 40

We recognise the wider shift towards a more neuro‑affirming society and believe this must be reflected more strongly within Scotland’s schools so that diversity in learning is understood as a normal part of human development. The Committee therefore recommends that the Scottish Government embed neuro‑affirming practice through national training and clear leadership expectations, and consider whether duties are needed in future legislation to ensure that practice across the system upholds rights‑based, inclusive values.
