Full decision

Ms A complained that Carmarthenshire County Council failed to respond to concerns with its Safeguarding Process.

The Ombudsman found there had been a delay with the Council providing feedback to Ms A during the Safeguarding Process which caused additional frustration and uncertainty for her and her family. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Ms A and offer financial redress of £200. The Council provided us with evidence of compliance with the agreed actions on 24 June 2026.
