Full decision

Mrs A complained that the Health Board had failed to undertake a thorough investigation into her complaint or respond fully to the issues that she had raised in respect of the care and treatment that her son received from the dermatology department.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board had failed to provide an adequate response and had not addressed the issues that she had raised in her complaint.

The Ombudsman contacted the Health Board and in resolution of Mrs A’s complaint it agreed to, within 30 working days, provide a further response in writing addressing the issues raised in her complaint. The Ombudsman considered this to be an appropriate resolution and did not investigate the complaint.
