Full decision

Ms X complained that the Health Board had failed to respond to her complaint about the care provided to her during her pregnancy and labour, which she made to it in December 2021.

In considering the complaint, the Ombudsman was concerned that the Health Board had not yet provided Ms X a written response. The Ombudsman therefore asked the Health Board to complete the following in settlement of Ms X’s complaint: By 2 September 2022 a) Apologise to Ms X for the considerable delay in responding to her complaint b) Provide Ms X with a written complaint response.
