Full decision

Mr X complained that Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (“the Health Board”) had not delivered services that it had previously agreed it would. These services included life story work and psychological, CPN and occupational therapy assessments. In addition, he said that the correct assessments had not been undertaken by NHS Continuing Health Care. Mr X complained that he was not getting the treatment he needed due to these assessments not being undertaken.

Mr X also complained that when he had requested information from the Health Board, he was informed that a communication strategy was in place. Mr X said that the Health Board would not take or deal with his complaint.

Upon enquiries being made, the Health Board confirmed that the last formal complaint received was in 2018 which it responded to in July 2019.

In settlement of the complaint, the Health Board agreed to issue a formal PTR response to the complaint Mr X made to the Ombudsman within 12 weeks.
