Recommendation - Metropolitan Police Service, September 2026

The IOPC recommends that the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) should update their Use of Force form on the police system to include the option of the side of the head as a Taser barb impact location.

This recommendation has arisen as a result of a Death or Serious Injury review and would assist in more accurate data recording and analysis.
