Leeds Maternity Review

Independent review into maternity and neonatal services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, led by Donna Ockenden (appointed 10 March 2026). Expected to cover 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2025, with individual clinical case reviews to begin from August 2026 and terms of reference to be developed with families (gov.uk news, 10 March 2026). The Health Secretary first announced an inquiry into the trust's maternity services orally to Parliament on 21 October 2025; what has since been established is a non-statutory independent review, and Leeds was removed from the separate national maternity and neonatal investigation to allow for this dedicated review. No statutory establishment order or review website has been published.
