Fonagy Review

Independent review commissioned by DHSC in December 2025 to examine how the health system delivers mental health, ADHD and autism services, exploring similarities and differences between conditions, current challenges, and the extent to which diagnosis and treatment improves outcomes for individuals. Led by Professor Peter Fonagy OBE with vice-chairs Professor Sir Simon Wessely and Professor Gillian Baird, the review will also explore alternative models of support and pathways that promote prevention and early intervention in England. An interim report was published in March 2026; final recommendations are expected in summer 2026.
