1 Open Immediately, Devon and Cornwall Police should take steps to identify and address gaps in its systems and processes for identifying and recording reports made by victims of crimes, giving particular attention to crimes of rape and reported incidents of rape, assaults, course of conduct crimes, domestic abuse related crimes, and crimes associated with antisocial behaviour. 2 Completed Within three months, the force should on a regular basis, audit and monitor areas where there are known gaps in the accuracy of crime-recording and make sure it has effective governance and oversight so that it can understand its crime-recording performance fully.
