1. By 28 August 2026 the provider must ensure that people’s medication is managed safely and accurately.

In order to achieve this, the provider must, at a minimum:

a) ensure the safe storage of medication;

b) ensure that medication audits are robust, include storage of medication, as required protocols and topical medication; c) review ‘as required’ medication protocols to ensure the information is personalised to the person; and d) ensure that people’s topical medication is labelled with dates of opening, people receive their medication as prescribed and records for topical medication are included in medication audits. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) & (d) (welfare of service users) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210).

This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that:

By 28 August 2026 the provider must ensure people’s nutrition and hydration needs are met In order to achieve this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) keep accurate records of food and fluid for people where monitoring is required; b) ensure there are appropriate fluid targets and guidance on actions to be taken if target is not met; c) ensure there is oversight and analysis of people’s fluid intake; and d) information about monitoring of people’s fluids is recorded in their care plan. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) & (d) (welfare of service users) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that:

1. By 28 August 2026 the provider must ensure that the quality assurance processes and processes are followed. To do this, the provider must , at a minimum:

a) ensure that quality assurance processes are fully completed to ensure standards are maintained; b) record shift handover information; c) ensure that staff have access to one-to-one supervision and there is a record of supervision; and d) develop a service improvement plan specific to the housing support and care at home aspect of the service.

This is in order to comply with regulations 3 and 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210).
