1. By 31 October 2026, the provider must ensure there is consistent and inclusive provision of social and recreational opportunities both within and outwith the home to support improved wellbeing outcomes for people. To do this the provider, must at a minimum: a) ensure regular planned activities linked to individuals’ preferences that provide stimulation and meaningful engagement; b) improve availability of one-to-one support where people are unable, or do not wish to be involved in group activities, including those spending time in their bedrooms; and c) keep accurate records of activities supported and develop methods to evaluate activities that have been facilitated to inform future plans. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (1. To do this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) formalise quality assurance processes with documented audits for key areas of service delivery including, recruitment processes, staff supervision, appraisal and training needs and the environment, including refurbishment programmes; b) develop and implement a comprehensive and on-going service improvement plan that is regularly reviewed, includes clear timescales, and identifies individuals responsible for actions; and c) introduce structured self-evaluation processes that involve people who use the service and their representatives, staff and relevant external agencies. This is to comply with Regulation 4 (1a) (welfare of users) of the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI21. To do this, the provider must at a minimum: a) ensure personal plans set out how people's current needs will be met, as well as their choices and wishes; b) ensure risk assessments are completed to identify risks and risk reduction strategies; c) review personal plans regularly, no less than six monthly and evidence involvement with people and their representatives (as appropriate); d) complete anticipatory care plans which reflect people’s end of life wishes; and e) ensure daily care records are legible, detailed and support continuity of care and support for people.
