1. To promote children’s safety and wellbeing, the provider should improve risk assessment and management processes. This should include, but is not limited to, the front garden gate and the boundary wall in the back garden to reduce the likelihood of a child leaving the service unnoticed. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘My environment is secure and safe’ (HSCS 5.17).
2. To promote children’s health and wellbeing, the provider should improve cleaning schedules to reduce the risk of infection spread. This should include, but is not limited to, touch points within the children’s toilet and floor cleaning within the bathroom used for providing intimate care in the form of nappy changing. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises, furnishings and equipment’ (HSCS 5.22).
