Recommendation 1

1. To support children's progression in their learning and development, next steps in children's development should be meaningful, achievable and monitored to ensure children are supported well to reach their full potential. Observations should be regularly recorded and shared with families, identifying children's progress in their learning. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I am supported to achieve my potential in education and employment if this is right for me’ (HSCS 1.27).
