Requirement 1

1. By 2 June 2026 the service much ensure each person supported has had a review of their care and support at least once in the last six month period, or sooner if their needs change. This is to ensure their care and support reflects their outcomes. This should include, but is not limited to; a) each aspect of the person's care and support needs being discussed and assessed with the person and/or their representative at a review b) keeping a record of discussions and decisions made c) clearly documenting changes to people's outcomes and how they will be met. This is to comply with Regulation 5(2)(b) and 5(2)(c) of the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I am fully involved in developing and reviewing my

Recommendation 1

1. The provider should ensure that people are supported to store their medication appropriately in their homes, and that clear protocols are in place for the administration of PRN ('as required’) medication. PRN protocols should include when, why, and how PRN medication is administered, and staff should record its administration and effectiveness. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My care and support meets my needs and is right for me' (HSCS 1.19); and 'I experience high quality support based on relevant evidence, guidance and best practice' (HSCS 4.11).
