1. To ensure people are safe and benefit from robust medication management systems, the provider should develop clear processes to guide staff including 'as required' medications and seek the relevant consents and paperwork where people do not have capacity to give consent. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that ‘ If I need help with medication, I am able to have as much control as possible’ (HSCS 2.23) and ‘I experience high quality care and support because people have the necessary information and resources’ (HSCS 4.27).

1. To ensure people's choice and dignity is supported with their rights upheld, the provider should seek to access the upper floor space and to ensure the provision of accessible changing areas. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that ‘If I require intimate personal care, there is a suitable area for this, including a sink if needed’ (HSCS 5.4) and ‘The premises have been adapted, equipped and furnished to meet my needs and wishes’ (HSCS 5.18).
