1. By 1 July 2026, the provider must ensure people are supported compassionately and safely in times of distress. To do this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) Ensure all staff are trained to a high standard in how to avoid, react to and decrease incidents of distressed behaviour. b) Ensure all guidelines in care plans are clear, up to date and reflect multi disciplinary guidance. c) Ensure all staff follow people's guidance exactly at all times. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care a nd Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care1. By 1 July 2026, the provider must ensure people's health and wellbeing benefits from quality assurance activity leading to improvements. To do this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) Ensure accuracy in all audits and across all records. b) Ensure all instances where people's conditions or support needs to improve are noted and acted on. b) Follow through on improvement activity to ensure it is completed and effective. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19).
1. By 1 July 2026, the provider must ensure people's health and wellbeing is supported by effective care plans. To do this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) Ensure all people have a documented six month review, with important people invited to attend or contribute. b) Ensure all care plans are consistent throughout with no conflicting information or inaccuracies. c) Ensure all language used to describe people is non judgemental, respectful and promotes human rights. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience care and support where all people are respected and valued' (HSCS 4.3).
1. To support people's health and wellbeing, the provider should ensure all people's medication is handled and administered correctly. This should include, but is not limited to: a) All staff receiving appropriate training and development for them to maintain skills and understanding of medication procedures. b) All staff being monitored to ensure they use safe and effective administration and recording techniques. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes' (HSCS 3.14).
1. To support people's health and wellbeing, the provider should ensure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in all areas. This should include, but is not limited to: a) Ensure all staff, at all levels have been given training and development in their key tasks. b) Make full use of all development tools including role modelling, tracking improvement, good communication. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes' (HSCS 3.14).
