1. By 14 December 2025, the provider must ensure they keep people safe and healthy by ensuring that all medications are managed safely and administered as prescribed. To do this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) Ensure that staff who administer medications are trained and have competency assessments undertaken. b) Ensure that administration instructions are detailed including, but not limited to, 'as required' medication. c) Implement a system to monitor the accuracy of topical prescriptions when transcribed by staff. d) Implement a system to regularly monitor and quality assure medication management. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) (Welfare of users) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210).
