1. To support children's wellbeing and development, the childminder should further develop personal planning processes to ensure children's needs, routines, preferences, strengths, wishes and what matters to them are clearly recorded. Individual support strategies should be documented where appropriate and a robust review process with families implemented to ensure personal plans are reviewed and updated at least every six months in line with legislation. This is to ensure care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states that: 'My personal plan (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met, as well as my wishes and choices' (HSCS 1.15) and 'My care and support meets my needs and is right for me' (HSCS 1.19)
Conditions of registration
The childminder may care for a maximum of 6 children at any one time up to 16 years of age:
of whom no more than 6 are under 12 years;
of whom no more than 3 are not yet attending primary school and;
of whom no more than 1 is under 12 months.
Numbers include the children of the childminder's family/household
Minded children cannot be cared for by persons other than those named on the certificate.
Overnight care will not be provided.
