1. To ensure children progress in their learning, the provider should further develop and embed the quality of play experiences and opportunities. This should include but not be limited to: - the set up of engaging and intriguing spaces - enhancing staff interactions to enable children’s thinking skills - connecting children’s interests with planning and evidencing their progress. This is ensure care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state, 'As a child, I have fun as I develop my skills in understanding, thinking, investigating and problem solving, including through imaginative play and storytelling' (HSCS 1.30).
1. To ensure all children have consistent and stable care and support to thrive, the provider should improve the arrangements for staff deployment, including planned and unplanned absence cover. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state, ‘I experience stability in my care and support from people who know my needs, choices and wishes, even if there are changes in the service or organisation' (HSCS 4.15) and ‘I know who provides my care and support on a day to day basis and what they are expected to do. If possible, I can have a say on who provides my care and support’ (HSCS 3.11).
1. To ensure the environment meets children’s health and wellbeing needs, the provider should improve: - the general environment decoration - the consistent use of infection prevention and control measures. This is to ensure care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state, 'I experience an environment which is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furniture and equipment' (HSCS5.24) and 'I experience high quality care and support based on relevant evidence, guidance and best practice' (HSCS 4.11).
