1. To support positive experiences and enhance outcomes for children, the childminder should develop quality assurance processes. This should include but is not limited to regularly gathering feedback from children and families and developing self-evaluation practice that informs continuous improvements for the service. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes" (HSCS 4.19).
2. The childminder should ensure that policies, procedures and risk assessments are routinely reviewed and updated to reflect current practice. Risk assessments should be developed in greater detail, including specific consideration of children’s use of the trampoline and for areas within the local community accessed by children. This will support the effective identification and management of potential risks and help ensure children’s safety and wellbeing. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "My environment is secure and safe" (HSCS 5.17).
3. To safeguard children, the childminder should ensure that all household members aged 16 years and over have a current Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check in place. This will confirm their suitability to be in contact with children and support a safe environment. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "I use a service and organisation that are well led and managed" (HSCS 4.23) and "My environment is secure and safe" (HSCS 5.17).
1. To support children to achieve their full potential, the childminder should ensure that observations of children are routinely completed and used effectively to record and monitor their progress and achievements. This information should then inform the planning of activities and resources, ensuring these reflect children’s interests and preferences and are appropriate to their age and stage of development. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "As a child, I have fun as I develop my skills in understanding, thinking, investigation, and problem solving, including through imaginative play and storytelling" (HSCS 1.30).
1. To support children's health and wellbeing, the childminder should ensure that all children have a fully completed personal plan in place. Plans should be developed in partnership with children and their families, and reviewed every six months or sooner if required, to reflect any changes. At a minimum, plans should include clear details of each children's health, welfare and safety needs, and how the childminder plans to meet these. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "My personal plan (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met, as well as my wishes and choices" (HSCS 1.15).
Conditions of registration

1. To provide a care service to a maximum of 6 children at any one time under the age of 16, of whom no more than 3 children are not yet attending primary school and of whom no more than one is under 12 months. Numbers are inclusive of children of the childminder's family.

3. Minded children cannot be cared for by persons other than those named on the certificate.
