Recommendation 1

1. To support people's health and wellbeing the provider should ensure that all areas of the service are cleaned or repaired to the expected standard. This should include, but not be limited to, ensuring environmental audits are effective at identifying the need for cleaning, repair or replacement. Also, that a percentage of actions ticked as completed in the environmental audits or cleaning schedules is verified by the leadership team. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises, furnishings and equipment' (HSCS 5.24).
