Recommendation 1

1. The childminder should now develop personal plans to record any identified specific support needs. These should also record identified strategies for support in place and be used to enable children to achieve. These should also include recording children's achievements and identify relevant, meaningful and manageable next steps. This information should be regularly reviewed and updated with parents and the child to support children's progress. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards which state that: 'My personal plan (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met, as well as my wishes and choices' (HSCS 1.15).
