Recommendation 1

1. To ensure people experience high quality care, the provider should enable opportunities for staff to reflect on their practice and identify further learning and development needs through regular supervision with their manager. This is in order to comply with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state: “I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes” (HSCS 3.14).

Recommendation 2

2. To ensure people’s outcomes and aspirations are fully achieved, the provider should utilise the sources of evidence from quality audits, discussions with people, staff and supportive documents to develop a service improvement and development plan. This is in order to comply with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state: “I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes” (HSCS 4.19).
