Requirement 1

1. By 13 June 2025 the service should ensure that robust safeguarding practice is consistent within the service. To do this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) undertake a review of recent safeguarding practice to identify lessons learned; and b) ensure all staff and managers are aware of safeguarding responsibilities and how these are communicated to external professionals. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I am protected from harm, neglect and abuse, bullying and exploitation by people who have a clear understanding or their responsibilities.' (HSCS 3.20).

Requirement 2

2. By 13 June 2025 the service should ensure that there are systems in place for monitoring and notifying appropriately any instances of restrictive practice within the service. To do this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) ensure all staff are fully aware of responsibilities to notify the Care Inspectorate and quality assurance processes are robust when incidents occur. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent, skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes.' (HSCS 3.14).

Recommendation 1

1. To allow positive outcomes to be evaluated, the service should ensure that care planning goals are in place to support children and young people’s care. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My care and support meets my needs and is right for me.' (HSCS 1.19).
