Requirements & recommendations
1. By 15 December 2025, the provider must ensure that any significant incidents are recorded accurately and there is effective analysis and oversight of incidents. To do this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) ensure that all incidents are recorded with appropriate detail and with language that is trauma-informed; b) ensure staff and managers participate in a debriefing following any incidents and these are appropriately recorded to allow for learning, reflection and consider what could have been done differently; and c) ensure that auditing by managers and senior managers includes analysis of adverse incidents and suggested learning to develop consistent and safe practice. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) (welfare of users) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/ 210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: To do this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) ensure that an effective medication procedure is in place and staff are trained in these procedures; b) ensure that all medication is appropriately labelled and stored securely; c) ensure that all medication records are fully completed, up-to-date and include the expiration date of the medication; d) ensure that all staff who are required to dispense medication have completed all relevant training and their training records are retained and reviewed; and e) ensure that young people’s medication charts are retained, updated and reviewed before medication is dispensed. This is in order to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements fo3. By 26 January 2026, the provider must ensure that there are effective processes in place for service and staff learning, development and support. To do this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) ensure that all staff have completed up-to-date essential core training. This should include child protection, first aid, and SCM. b) ensure that all staff and managers benefit from regular, professional one-to-one support. This should be used to identify training needs and areas for personal development; and c) ensure that staff have protected time for training and learning. This should include time to reflect on any adverse incidents or challenges and any relevant changes and developments in policy and legislation. This is in order to comply with section 8 of the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I have confidence in people because4. To do this, the provider must, as a minimum: a) ensure effective quality assurance systems are implemented to provide scrutiny, analysis and assurance that care is safe, well planned, documented and regularly reviewed. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) (welfare of users) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/ 210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes.' (HSCS 4.19).
Conditions of registration

1. To provide a care service to a maximum of 7 young people aged between 5 and 18 years in single occupancy rooms.

2. The service will be provided at Carruthmuir, Steppends Road, by Bridge of Weir, Inverclyde PA10 2QA. The service's holiday caravan, situated at Turnberry Holiday Park, can also be used for holidays and/or short breaks for focused work (for a maximum of 14 days).
3. To comply with the current staffing schedules attached dated 7 December 2012, which must be displayed together with the certificate.
