1. To improve outcomes for children, the manager and provider should ensure that self-evaluation and quality assurance impact on improved experiences for children. This should include, but not be limited to, effective auditing and monitoring of children's personal plans, learning journals, accidents and staff practice. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes." (HSCS 4.19)

1. The provider should ensure that all areas used by children are clean, well-maintained, and hygienic. This should include, but not be limited to, addressing maintenance issues in toilets and changing facilities, and replacing sealant around sinks to reduce the risk of infection. These actions are necessary to promote a safe and nurturing environment that supports children's health and wellbeing. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that “I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furnishings and equipment.” (HSCS 5.22)

To ensure that children have access to a range of experiences that take account of their play and learning interests, the service should introduce a more responsive model of observation and planning. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: "As a child, I can direct my own play and activities in the way that I choose, and freely access a wide range of experiences and resources suitable for my age and stage, which stimulate my natural curiosity, learning and creativity". (HSCS 2.27)
