1. By 31 August 2026, the provider must ensure children are cared for in a clean, safe and well-maintained environment through robust infection prevention and control practices, and clear maintenance systems. To achieve this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) ensure infection prevention and control policies are consistently implemented in practice, including effective cleaning routines. b) improve overall standards of cleanliness, including undertaking deep cleaning where required. c) remove or repair damaged items and ensure all fixture and fittings are well-maintained and in working order. d) establish a clear, centralised system for reporting and addressing maintenance and environmental issues to ensure consistency, oversight and timely action. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) Welfare of users and Regulation 10(2)(a) Fitness of premises of the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/
1. To promote consistent high-quality practice, the provider should ensure that quality assurance processes are further developed in a meaningful way to support continuous improvement for children and families. This should include, but is not limited to, the monitoring of medication, accidents/ incidents, staff practice, interactions, infection prevention control. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes’ (HSCS 4.19).
Conditions of registration
Number(s) and Age(s) of person(s) to whom service may be provided:
1. To provide a care service to a maximum of:
18 children aged 0 to under 2 years
20 children aged 2 years to under 3 years
32 children aged 3 years to those not attending primary school 12 children of primary school age.
Any other conditions unique to the service:
2. The care service will operate between the times of 08:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday.
3. The manager or person acting as the manager shall be supernumerary to the child adult ratios.
