By September 30th 2026 in order to ensure that people experience a safe, well-maintained and comfortable environment, the provider must develop and implement a comprehensive environmental improvement plan and evidence monitoring arrangements that demonstrate ongoing progress against it. The plan must include, but is not limited to: a) Completion of the fire door installation programme. b) Safe removal and management of asbestos in line with specialist advice. c) Completion of boiler replacement and any associated remedial works d) Replacement of damaged flooring throughout the service. e) Any additional environmental improvement works identified as a consequence of asbestos removal or other building works. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises, furnishings and equipment' (HSCS 5.24).

This must include but is not limited to: a) Redecoration of all private and communal areas to a high standard. b) Replacement of any damaged flooring. c) Making the outdoor space safe and accessible to people living in the service. d) Continuing to include the views of people living in the service when planning the redecoration. To promote positive outcomes for people experiencing care, the provider should ensure that all staff experience regular, protected time with their line manager, or other appropriate person, to discuss the staff member's workload, support their wellbeing and promote their learning and development needs. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes' (HSCS 3.14).
1. By 31 July 2025, to ensure people's care and support needs are met, the provider must ensure staffing arrangements are safe and effective.
