Requirement 1

1. By 1 April 2026, the provider must ensure children receive care in a clean, safe and well-maintained environment. To do this, the provider must, at a minimum: a) ensure furnishings and fixtures are clean and well-maintained b) remove mould from windows and ledges c) ensure safe storage of hazardous materials d) tidy debris and unwanted materials from garden area e) ensure systems for monitoring, maintenance and repairs are robust. This is to comply with Regulations 4(1)(a) and (d)(welfare of users) and 10(2)(b) and(d)(Fitness of premises) of the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/ 210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience and environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furnishings and equipment’ (HSCS 5.24 )
