1. To support children's health and safety the provider should ensure that children receive care in a safe, secure and well maintained premises. This should include, but is not limited to, ensuring robust and dynamic risk assessments are in place with action being taken to mitigate risks to children. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) that states: 'My environment is secure and safe' (HSCS 5.24) and 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes.' (HSCS 3.14).
1. To support children's wellbeing and development the provider should enhance personal plans to ensure they contain current and relevant information to meet the needs of children. This should include, but is not limited to, reviewing and updating children's interests and preferences, and ensuring all plans are agreed, signed and reviewed with parents. This is to ensure that care, play and learning is consistent with the Health and Social care Standards (HSCS) which states: "My personal plan (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met, as well as my wishes and choices." (HSCS 15)
