1. To support children’s wellbeing and emotional safety, the provider should ensure that responses to young people are trauma informed and child led. This should include but not limited to ensuring that there is therapeutic and trauma informed training available to staff, which is embedded across all aspects of care. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'As a child or young person I feel valued, loved and secure.' (HSCS 3.10)

2. To support children’s wellbeing, the provider should ensure that care planning includes SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) goals. This should include but is not limited to clear goals which reflect young people’s aspirations. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My personal plan (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met as well as my wishes and choices.' (HSCS 1.15)

1. To improve the evaluation of outcomes, the service should ensure SMART goals are in place for children and young people. This should include but is not limited to, better engaging children and young people in care planning and identifying clear goals so that progress can be measured. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My personal plan (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met as well as my wishes and choices.' (HSCS 1.15).

2. To ensure staff have the required knowledge, the service should improve consistency of training. This should include but is not limited to, ensuring that all staff keep identified training up to date. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes.' (HCSC, 3.14).
