1. To promote consistent high-quality practice the provider should ensure that quality assurance and self-evaluation processes are further developed. This should include, but is not limited to: a) the quality assurance and self-evaluation processes including monitoring and auditing being actively re-visited to take forward actions and evaluate progress. These processes should be meaningful, evaluated and highlight the impact on outcomes for children and families; b) audits including more detailed information to ensure they are effective and robust to identify errors, out of date information and timely reviews of documents. This is in relation to personal plans and the safe management of medication. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance proce1. To support children to lead and extend their play through a wide range of quality experiences, the provider should ensure that resources are reviewed and developed to offer more choice, challenge, and creativity. The provider should also further develop loose parts and open-ended resources indoors to enhance children’s play opportunities and experiences and develop imaginations and problem-solving. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘As a child, I can direct my own play and activities in the way that I choose, and freely access a wide range of experiences and resources suitable for my age and stage, which stimulate my natural curiosity, learning and creativity’ (HSCS 2.27).
