1. To ensure positive outcomes for children, the provider should implement effective self evaluation processes. This should include, but not be limited to, the development of formal systems that support reflective practice across the setting. These processes should enable staff to routinely reflect on and improve their practice, support continuous learning, and clearly identify priorities for improvement. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19).
2. To ensure positive outcomes for children, the provider should develop and implement effective quality assurance systems. As a minimum, this should include the introduction of a structured monitoring calendar which clearly outlines when key quality assurance activities will be undertaken and how these will be evaluated for impact on practice. Monitoring a ctivity should include regular supervision of staff practice and systematic review of key documentation, including, but not limited to, children’s personal plans, infection prevention and control procedures, planning documentation, medication records, and records of accidents and incidents. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19); and 'My environment is secure and safe' (HSCS
53. To ensure positive outcomes for children, the provider should develop and implement regular team meetings alongside consistent one to one discussions with staff. These should be used to support staff wellbeing and to identify, review, and promote ongoing professional learning and development. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: ‘I am confident that people are encouraged to be innovative in the way they support and care for me’ (HSCS 4.25) and ‘I experience high quality care and support because the people have the necessary information and resources’ (HSCS 4.27).
1. To ensure children’s individual health and wellbeing needs are met, the provider should further streamline children’s personal plans. This should include, but not be limited to, clearly identified strategies which demonstrate how children’s needs will be met, and robust review arrangements to evidence that personal plans are reviewed at least once every six months. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My personal plan is right for me because it sets out how my needs will be met, as well as my wishes and choices' (HSCS 1.15).
