Recommendation 1

1. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, the childminder should strengthen practices and procedures. This should include, but is not limited to: a) Developing and implementing risk assessments to support a safe environment and reflect the practices in place. b) Completing Infection Prevention and Control training and reviewing hand washing routines to ensure they align with best practice guidance. This is to ensure care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS), which state that: ‘I experience high quality care and support based on relevant evidence, guidance and best practice’ (HSCS 4.11).
