1. To ensure people experience high-quality care in a safe and hygienic environment, the provider should improve infection prevention and control (IPC) practices and environmental monitoring. This includes but not limited to: a) Strengthening audit processes to ensure they reflect actual conditions in bedrooms and communal areas. b) Improving attention to detail in cleaning schedules and equipment checks. c) Ensuring bathing equipment is regularly reviewed and maintained. This is to ensure care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state: "I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furnishings and equipment."2. To ensure the environment continues to support high-quality care and positive outcomes, the provider should develop an environmental improvement plan for the home. This should include a clear overview of all planned refurbishments across all areas of the home, and support timely action on identified issues, including wear and tear on furnishing and equipment. This is to ensure care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state: "I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furnishings and equipment."
